The original design is by famed cabinet maker, Michael Thonet. Thonet’s lifelong mission was to make durable, well-designed furniture from local timbers — and mass manufacture it so it was affordable for the multitudes.
In more recent times, the multitudes have been unable to afford them – rapacious Australian distributors have made the price a little stratospheric. Chairforce is now directly importing these chairs and offering them at below normal wholesale prices.
