Established in 1965 as a family building contracting business (by the late Mr. Joe Riga with sons John and Peter) and until 1995 carried out work exclusively for the State Government with respect to public and affordable public housing. This work involved construction of detached and attached housing, low-rise and medium-rise apartment complexes, all to precise and exact standards and specifications. From 1995 onwards the company's emphasis has been on private contracting for residential and commercial construction and as a developer of speculative private medium density residential developments. This period has included work such as townhouse complexes, apartment buildings, new luxury residences, extensions and commercial fit-out projects. The company was founded by the original sole director of the company, Mr Joe Riga, who had trade carpentry and concreting qualifications as a background to extensive building experience gained by working in the various fields mentioned above. Currently, the on-site supervision of all projects is carried out by son Peter, who is also of trade carpentry background. Office, contract administration, job estimating and project management is the responsibility of son John, a qualified Civil & Structural Engineer. Specialising in custom designed and contract homes; residential additions and extensions; Knockdown and new build projects In addition to holding an HIA Gold Membership (15 years or more), the quality of work has seen the attainment of the following awards: - WINNER of the 1999 South-East Queensland HIA High-density project of the year award. - FINALIST in the 2000 HIA Australian Housing Awards for High-density project of the year.
