In addition to a greater resolution, the MMR-630 is also designed not to be affected by interferences of values as much as five times higher than the measured signal. The MMR Series ductor testers use a special measurement algorithm, making it possible for them to be used on both resistive and inductive types of objects, making them an obvious choice for testing electrical connections and junctions, switchboards, welded joints, railways, and power transformer and motor windings. The Sonel ductor testers lend themselves to a wide range of applications in an array of industries. The results can be stored in the internal memory, which can store up to 990 readings, and then downloaded to a PC via the built in serial interface for integration with the supplied Sonel Reader software. As well as the test result, a quick PASS or FAIL indication can be displayed on the multifunction LCD screen and an audible indication simplifies measurements, making the MMR-630 both easy to use and very user friendly. Using a 4-pole method, which eliminates resistance in the test leads, the MMR ductor tester can measure with a resolution of up to 0.1µΩ, with user selectable test current of up to 10A for greater accuracy of measurements at lower resistances. An automatic or manual range selection can be employed and a selectable mode, adjusted to the type of object under measurement is utilised for resistive objects (fast mode) and inductive objects (long mode). Additionally, selectable modes suited to the application can be used, employing either automatic or continuous measurement. The Sonel MMR range of ductor testers also allow the user to set an upper and a lower limit, between which the average result of the test readings should appear. Any measurements falling outside of these limits will trigger both a visual and an audible alarm. Measurements can be performed with current flowing in one direction, or with current flowing in two opposite directions. Testing with current flowing in one direction speeds up the measurement process, whereas testing with bi-directional current allows for the elimination of errors resulting from internal voltages ans electrothermal forces (temperature related) The MMR-630 is supplied in a professional kit, complete with a carrying case, 3m test lead set, crocodile clips, kelvin clamps, double tip kelvin probes, hanging straps, NiMH rechargeable battery pack and charger, serial cable, Sonel software and calibration certificate.
